Description

NGC 3324 is an rich cluster with more than 100 stars in the southern constellation Carina, located northwest of the Carina Nebula at a distance of 9,100 light years from Earth and is associated with the open cluster NGC 3293. Both are fairly young, at around 12 million years old.  They show some degree of mass segregation, with more massive stars concentrated near their centers.

As Summer winds down the prospect of some clearer winter skies beckons. This summer was pretty ordinary to say the least but as I live in one of the worst bush fire zones in New South Wales the clouds and rain had some definite positives. With luck the last of the 40 degree days are behind me. This is from a recent rare clear night with and an SQM of 20.3 magnitudes per arc seconds  and fair seeing. Not a lot of data but on the plus side Elon's egocentric satellites left me alone mostly and nothing to reject.
